First Life Drawing Class - Gesture Drawing

Attended Life Drawing Class yesterday evening at Elizabeth Guzsely Gallery. It was a good way to free up my drawing. For this first class we did gesture drawing - quick studies to capture a series of poses by the model in a short amount of time. A good exercise to begin. The model held a pose for 30 seconds up to several minutes. By doing quick scribbles to show the movement of the body we were able to loosely record the entire figure and hopefully capture action, structure and overall orientation rather than any specific details.  It is so tempting to go for detailed contours and harder than I thought it would be to do less detail.  Will have to do more homework!
