21st Century Kids Summer Festival On Tour in Cooktown on Saturday 15th January 2011. Kids made their own bird species using shredded paper and bird templates created by the artist.. These pictures show the wonderful results of a little imagination. Each bird in it's nest was labeled with the birds name, habitat, foods eaten, and behaviours. Australian artist Fiona Hall translated her interest in the migratory patterns of birds and nest-making into a hands-on activity. I had a fun day assisting with this kids art activity. Well hopefully getting ready for the 33rd Annual Art Exhibition has warmed up my painting skills as I now need to do some more to sell at the Discovery Festival Week-end Verandah Market Stall. I have some unfinished works I hope to finish off and two new ones I started today titled 'Fish Pond' and 'Potty' - just have the base layer down so far.
